The Skill Gala and Talent Hunt event was organized on the 27th and 28th of May at Lahore Expo Center. The event showcased many of the major tech companies and training centers, where they would show what they’re working on and look for any potential hires. Wise Market Pakistan also participated in this massive event.

Mr.Bilal Zahid, the CEO & co-founder of Wise Market PK, also gave a stunning & motivating speech. The event was a roaring success that brought on a multitude of business owners, students, and freelancers. 

What is Skill Gala

To start off, many of you might not be aware of what this event exactly is, but those who do understand its value. This event was held to elevate the tech industry & economic growth of Pakistan. For some time now, we’re noticing an economic decline in Pakistan, because of which all eyes are on the tech industry. 

That’s the reason why the Skill Gala was arranged, where a multitude of different tech & training companies were invited. This was to improve upon the IT export of Pakistan as well as reduce the talent gap between fresh graduates and professionals. 

There’s a decline in the number of capable and employee-able graduates. This is mainly because people or institutions don’t normally focus on the development of skills. This is an issue because, in the real world, the most important thing that anyone can have is nothing but skills. Now, this can be supplemented with the help of training centers where anyone can go and learn particular skills. 

That’s why the Skill Gala was held so that any person who wants to polish up on what they’ve studied over the years. Another reason for holding such an event is to scout out any employee-able senior resources. This gives any tech-related company an opportunity to display what kind of technology they’re working on and look for potential employees. Wise Market Pakistan was also among the companies that participated in this massive event. There we displayed what this company is and what the eco-friendly initiative that we’ve taken.

Bilal Zahid Speech & Wise Market Pakistan Purpose

Our esteemed CEO & Co-founder, Mr. Bilal Zahid, was invited to the Skill Gala as a guest speaker, which was held in Expo Center Lahore. On that platform, what Wise Market Pakistan stands for, and what are the initiatives that we’re taking?

He was given a very short time for his speech, but he made it work. Furthermore, the way he presented himself and the company was something that couldn’t be easily replicated. 

He started off by thanking the organizer of the Skill Gala and talent hunt event. After that, he went on to explain how the company first started and what was the intention behind Wise Market Pakistan.

You see, Wise Market PK was started with 2 main things in mind. The first being to create a platform in the form of a marketplace where different vendors could sell their smart devices, and the customers could buy those devices without having to leave the comfort of their homes. Mr. Bilal Zahid wanted a platform like Amazon for the Pakistani community so they don’t have to wait for major conglomerates to come and start doing business in Pakistan. 

Another reason for starting this business was to promote the usage of used or refurbished mobile phones. You see, most people buy a smart device, use it, and then simply just throw it away after some time. This created a lot of e-waste that can cause an issue for the environment. According to a rough estimation, around 59.4 Million metric tons of e-waste was produced in 2022. That’s a staggering amount of waste that is polluting our environment. 

That’s why Wise Market is taking the initiative to promote the sale of as many used smart devices as possible. By doing this, we can prevent e-waste from ending up in landfills and raise our living standards for everyone. Another initiative that Wise Market Pakistan is taking was announced at the CPC 2022 event. No matter how many sales we make in a year, in the end, we’ll plant just as many saplings for a greener environment.

Coming back to the speech, Mr. Bilal also mentioned that people keep asking him to give them some sort of tips. For those people, he only had two lines to say, which were:

“You Should Have an Aim. You Should Have a Dream.”

With these two simple lines, he explained that with a proper aim, you can achieve any dream that you have in mind. He also said that most people would mostly oppose you and say that this dream isn’t worth following, but all you need to do is believe in yourself and stick to the dream that you want to achieve.

Another thing that he mentioned in the speech was to stay honest and true to your commitment. Those who honor their commitments and keep their word succeed in a world full of people looking for some type of shortcut.

During the entirety of his speech, he was cogent, coherent, and precise. He never strayed away from the message that he was trying to convey and kept the audience motivated. 

Overall, the event was very amazing, and the speech by Mr. Bilal was very motivating and captivating. The audience loved it, and they showed it with widespread applause.
