What sets these devices apart is that they are compatible with both Apple and Google’s lost-item finding technology right away. This means that customers no longer have to choose between models that only work with one company’s network.

According to Chipolo, combining these various functions into a single device will simplify the process of selecting the ideal product for consumers. Additionally, this feature would improve the suitability of Chipolo products as gifts, as buyers would not have to consider whether the recipient is an Android or iPhone user.

The Chipolo devices, along with Tile, Pebblebee, and Samsung, are among the few companies that produce trackers similar to AirTags.

In contrast to Tile, who utilized their own mobile app users to create a tracking network, Chipolo opted to collaborate with the already established finding networks provided by Apple and Google. Despite being in the market before AirTag, Tile’s decision was heavily influenced by competition from Apple, eventually resulting in its sale to Life360 for $205 million in 2021.

According to an email shared with TechCrunch, Chipolo has achieved impressive success, selling over 4.5 million of its devices. The recent release of the Chipolo ONE Spot and Chipolo Card Spot, both compatible with “Find My,” has resulted in a 30% average annual growth for the company.

The new Chipolo POP has a range of features, including support for both Apple and Google finding networks. It also includes popular options from previous trackers, such as finding a missing phone by double-pressing on the out-of-range alerts of your trackers, changing the Chipolo’s ringtone, and using the tracker as a remote selfie shutter.

Additionally, the range of the device’s Bluetooth has been expanded to cover a distance of 300 feet (90 meters), while the battery boasts a lifespan of one year and can easily be replaced by the user.

Chipolo’s website and Amazon now offer the new devices in a variety of colors, including blue, black, green, red, white, and yellow. They are priced at $29 (£30/€35).

On Monday, Chipolo unveiled their newest version of their product, which is similar to AirTags.
